What other qualities should they possess?
We focus on a number of areas during our selection process. Naturally, the concierge must have presence and be an effective security operative first and foremost. Concierge must be able to understand problems and deal with issues positively and, at times, innovatively.
There is no room for ‘bad moods ‘ or ‘ off days’ . We hire people that remain calm under pressure, that are positive in their manner and enthusiastic about their role.
People skills are vitally important in this role. We have those and we have good judgement based on years of experience. That judgement helps us select the right people for the role and those people are the ones that impress our customers and their visitors alike.
