Security to be reviewed over Julian Assange

The UK”s most senior police chief Sir Bernard Hogan Howe says the Met is reviewing  the security operation at the embassy where Julian Assange the WikiLeaks founder is holed up.

Sir Hogan Howe has stated this is due to the operation of guarding the Ecuadorian Embassy in London has reached around £10 million.

Metropolitan Police Comissioner Sir Hogan Howe told LBC radio: “We are reviewing the way forward there. Mr Assange, who has been granted political asylum by Ecuador, has been living at the embassy since June 2012 to avoid extradition to Sweden.

The 43 year old fears that if he is sent to Sweden, he could also be extradited to the US to face charges for leaking documents.
